Dollar Tree Haul #1 [July]

Hello everyone... I'm back with a haul from Dollar Tree! Everyone that knows me, knows that I am a total bargain shopper.... This week I decided out of boredom to go to local Dollar Tree stores around town to purchase a few things. To my surprise I found a few things that I didn't originally go shopping for, but glad I actually got what they had in each store.

First off, lets talk about +Maybelline New York's nail polish line called Color Show! I didn't know they even made polish to be honest. I use their brand of foundation daily, seeing this product at the Dollar Tree had me floored! I wanted every color so I traveled to a couple of stores to find a majority of colors that were offered. Each polish was $1, yes... One dollar!

These polishes are sold at Wal-Mart & Target for at least $2.89-3.99 each so I saved a ton of money on the ones I purchased.

From left to right: Green Grafiti, I Got You Beige, Bold and Burgundy & Plum As You Are

From top to bottom: Gold Ignite, Sage Staple & Greyzy in Love

Here's a look at my designs for the month of July using Green Graffiti & Sage Staple (Matte) colors.

Yeah I know they look kinda ashy, this is right after I got them done!

As far as cosmetics go this month... I decided to pick up a +L'Oréal lip pencil. I got it for those lipsticks that you use up but you can't quite get to the bottom of the barrel for that last little bit. Yeah, I like to use my lipsticks to the bottom and I thought this would be a great name brand item for $1 to help me do that. I also decided to re-up on some liquid eyeliner. I love e.l.f. cosmetics so I decided to get it again!

I also found myself in the mood for doing some reading. Surprisingly the Dollar Store sells hard back books for $1. They get a shipment of books from retailers who don't end up selling them for the price they are worth. So I saved well over $15-20 on these books. I decided to get "Good Jeans" by Diane Gilman because it's the life story of a fashionista who at the age of  60 shows women that you can still be sexy, make money, age gracefully and be in a successful relationship no matter how old you are. The "Veganist" by Kathy Freston was chosen because on August 1st I'll be going back into clean eating and I just wanted to get an idea about different ways to eat. I'd like to be a vegan one day but in the mean time I just need to do research on eating healthier. I also picked up a book called "Mom & Me & Mom" by Maya Angelou because a legend wrote it and I'd be a fool to let this bargain slip so I brought it. I can't wait to continue to read and collect books so that I can start my own little book shelf with things that are "non-college" material. LOL! But these are the books i'll be reading for the next couple of months, be prepared for a review of them soon maybe not on a blog but on Instagram (follow me @BeyondTheKurves) check it out!

Finally, I decided to get these chalk markers that I saw another girl using via YouTube. They are large markers, they only sell the markers in white (which I can't find anywhere), red, blue and yellow. They are also sold individually, not in packs where you get more than one. Wherever chalk can be used these markers can be used to write. I thought it would be cool to use them on the sticker chalk board that I got from the Dollar Tree as well. I plan on putting the sticker on a fancy picture frame until I can get some chalkboard paint to create a cute chalk board to write notes on. Each item was again, only $1!

I plan to continue blogging Dollar Tree hauls month to month so that I can put you guys on to new things or pretty much ways to get things for a bargain. Thanks for taking the time out to read my short and sweet blog for my 1st Dollar Tree haul.

Until next time.....

aka Nakeia Danielle
