So in December 2013, I had the liberty of entering myself into a few contests... I really haven't had time to review each and every item that I won, but for a while I've been wanting to take the time out to review this company which is promoted for a cause. A lot of the contests I've won have probably been based on business decisions in order to promote items so that those companies in turn can build revenue from the people who follow me and will go out to consume what I post. Not saying that's my sole purpose for blogging but I like getting things and giving insight to other's who can benefit from buying certain things. If my reviews help, then it's a plus but I do this for the benefit of informing others! Back to the topic at hand...
This blog is to introduce everyone to Portovelo shoes! These flats are reminiscent of the brand TOMS but in their own light, partner with the company Flourishing Futures NGO* where they provide a meal to 15 Mongolian children in poverty for each pair of shoes they sell. As of today's date they have donated almost 50,000 meals to children around the world. So you can imagine how many shoes they have already sold!
Speaking of these shoes, the term Porto & Velo means "BRINGING TRAVEL AND LOVE" in French, are very light and comfortable.
They come in varieties of common colors such as white, red & navy blue to name a few. They are reasonably priced as well, ranging from $44 to $49! You can wear them with just about anything. I decided to choose the white pair with the orange soles, because one day I wanted to draw some designs on them or have an artist do some dope graffiti on them (I have yet to find someone or take the time out to design them myself). I pair these flats with Khaki Bermuda shorts or with a nice high waisted skirt! They can be worn with just about anything. I've seen a few pictures on Instagram with the hashtag #portoveloshoes including the images I've taken of the ones that I won and this movement is incredible! So many people have shown support for a cause that many people have no idea about! As soon as I get the funds I plan on purchasing another pair of these comfy shoes. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that you are changing the lives of children who are less fortunate! I hope those of you who've took the time to read this contribute to this cause. Do your research, see exactly what cause you are putting your funds into!
