So today while going out to pick up my nephew I decided to not wear any make up at all! Yeah I know I'm a nut, but its only because I wanted to show off this new lipstick that I had the honor of winning from @browngirlredlips & @posh21cosmetics!

I discovered the movement Brown Girl Red Lips when I was playing around and searching for hashtags via Instagram. I guess I was bored one day, happened to see it and wanted to know what this movement was all about. It empowers women of all colors and nationalities who wear lipstick and like to flaunt their various colors. There's this big stigma about women in general wearing different colored lipstick but I'm here to tell y'all Brown Girl Red Lips has buried any thoughts of that lie! I'm dark skin and I love to make my lips pop! Gives me a bit more confidence when I step out to go anywhere to be honest.
When I found out what the movement was about I tagged one of my images wearing lipstick and was featured on the page. I decided to follow @browngirlredlips and found that the movement was very empowering. I don't wear lipstick everyday but when I do, I usually take a pic and post it to my page! Now I have every intention on hashtagging my photos #browngirlredlips to keep the movement going.

I entered a giveaway that gave 5 ladies the opportunity to win some lovely Betsy Johnson pearl earrings and a "Posh Pout" stick of Twilight colored lipstick or, as the Posh owner, would call it 'Speechless'. I had to explain why I loved makeup and my winning response was "I #love lipstick because it moisturizes my lips, not only that it intensifies the look in my eyes. Of course #you are going to look directly at my #lips when you see the color but after you take a look at my lips you will look at my eyes! Its just a normal #lipstick thing!"
The lipstick applied in the two images above has an ultra matte feel to it. Which means that it has a nice shade of color and have a flat and not shiny effect on the lips. Which makes the lip look smoother and sharp, oppose to shiny and glossy. The twilight color looks like a deep dark purple when you view the stick but I believe since my lips are light it gives the effect of a pink-purple kind of tint. So instead I decided to kiss a post-it note so that you can see the actual shade below! :-)
